Thomas Wilson Carr, 85, passed away on Thursday at his home.
The family will receive friends today, March 10, 2013, from 2 until 3:30 p.m. at Brogden United Methodist Church, followed by a graveside service at Wayne Memorial Park with full military honors.
Thomas was born in Alpine, Ala., on Aug. 27, 1927, to the late William G. Carr and Dollie Cox Carr. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military career, he began working and retired from Shepherd Electric.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Jean Weathers Carr; children, Sharon Marriner, Diane James and husband, Steve, Douglas Sutton, Dwight Sutton and wife, Beth; his sister, Pearl Finn. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, whom he treated as his children and grandchildren. They are James Ray Grady, Michael Thomas Hinnant, Emily Hinnant, Garrett Hunter Carter, Raymond Allen Hinnant, James Leslie Hinnant, Tiffany Huntoon, Jennifer Hooker, Marshall Sutton, Thomas Sutton II, Brantley Sutton, Lindsey Sutton and Courtney Sutton; and four great-grandchildren.
