FRED L. JARMON
Died Feb. 24, 2013
DUDLEY -- Mr. Fred Lelon Jarmon, 82, 1697 Arrington Bridge Road, Dudley, N.C., passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013.
He was the son of the late Elnora Jarmon.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Jerusalem Free Will Baptist Church, 359 Jerusalem Church Road, Seven Springs, N.C. Pastor Anthony Davis Sr. will officiate. Interment will follow at Jerusalem Church Cemetery.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Mildred K. Jarmon of the home; four daughters, Beatrice Alston, Christol Sue Smith (Lonnie), Diane Jones and Debra Jarmon; six grandchildren, Barcardi Jarmon, Dujuan Lofton, Montoya Roberts, Christopher Roberts (Tish), Brandon Smith and Andrae Smith; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other special relatives and friends, including Larry Broadhurst "Speedy."
Fred served in the Korean War from 1954 to 1956.
He was a dedicated member of Jerusalem Free Will Baptist Church, where he sang in the senior choir and served as a trustee.
He loved to cook -- his favorite recipes were chicken pastry, fish stew and lemonade. He loved Carolina basketball and Pepsi Cola.
For 56 years, Fred worked with Mr. Cecil Bryan and his family, and was employed with Goldsboro Motors Co. He was a dedicated and loyal employee.
His favorite saying was "I'm doing the best I can with what I got while it's working."
A public viewing will take place Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St. Goldsboro, N.C. The family will receive friends at the residence, where it will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession Saturday at noon.
