KATHLEEN BULLARD WARREN

LEXINGTON -- Mrs. Kathleen Dowd Bullard Warren, 94, W. Third Ave., Lexington, formerly of Goldsboro until 2008, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington after a full life well lived.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, Lexington, by the Rev. Kelley Groce and the Rev. Doug Rowe. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Hollywood Cemetery in Roseboro.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Warren was born June 16, 1918, in Roseboro to Dr. Thomas Perry Bullard and Lula Estelle Howard Bullard.

She graduated from Roseboro High School, and attended Pineland College and Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore.

Mrs. Warren spent her life dedicated to her family, her church and music. She taught voice at Mount Olive College and Wayne County Community College, and taught private lessons for 67 years.

She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Goldsboro for 60 years before moving to Lexington and becoming a member of First United Methodist Church in Lexington.

Her husband, William Leo Warren, and son, Dr. William Thomas Warren, preceded her in death, as well as her brothers, Rupert Edison Bullard, Perry Dubose Bullard and Dr. George Minson Bullard, and her sisters, Dr. Beatrice Bullard Stinnett, Dr. Doris Parker Bullard Hawkins and Laura Ray Bullard.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Warren McWhorter and husband, John, and Glynda Warren Smith and husband, Dan, both of Lexington; her brother, Eugene Curtis Bullard of Bellaire, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Chris Warren; her grandchildren, Dr. Thomas Perrine Warren, Whitney Ann Warren Schwab, William Lawson McWhorter, Louis Blake McWhorter, John Graham McWhorter, Daniel Parker Smith, Charlotte Warren Smith and Edward Emory Smith; and 10 great-grandchildren.
