Vera Alice Wood Lewallen, 90, long time Indianapolis resident, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 30, 2013.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, from 10 until 3 p.m., followed by a service at 3 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, Ind. Entombment will be at Washington Park East Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 16, 1922, in Streeter, W.Va. to Ira and Murrell Cooper Wood, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Lewallen. Survivors include her children, Barbara (late Robert) Sparks, William I. Essex, Becky (John) Selzer; grandchildren, Kimberly Luttrell, Steven Essex, Jane (Michael) Mendez, John E. (Amanda) Selzer; great-grandchildren, Joey (Ciara Taylor) Luttrell, T.J. (Shaunna Britt) Luttrell, Stephanie Johnson, John R. Selzer, Cheryl A. Selzer, and Lewis A. Selzer; great-great-grandchildren, William, Miyah, Dakota, and Nickolai, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren from the Robert Sparks family.
