INEZ LAWHORN NEWCOMB

Inez Lawhorn Newcomb, 81, peacefully passed away on Dec. 25, 2012, at home surrounded by her loving family.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, from 1 until 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Bishop Warren Barfield Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Inez was born on July 28, 1931, to the late Billy and Bertha Tyner Lawhorn. She was married to the late Glenn Newcomb. Inez loved nature and the outdoors. She loved and worked endlessly in her flower gardens and vegetable gardens. Inez enjoyed sharing her vegetables, bulbs, and flowers with her friends and family. She loved being at the coast where she and her husband shared a home prior to his passing. They loved to go shrimping and fishing. At their homes you were always greeted with a smile and a "Come on in."
Inez is survived by her loving and dedicated children, Glenn Newcomb and daughter-in-law, Gaynelle, of Goldsboro, Glenda Newcomb and Phyllis Newcomb Hargrove of Dudley, Bill Newcomb of Princeton; daughter-in-law, Debbie Newcomb of Pikeville; loving grandchildren, Allan, Candice, Melissa, Eric, Jeremy, Austin and Cameron; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Billy Lawhorn; and many adoring nieces and nephews. Inez leaves many dear friends and neighbors including a special person, Kay Ludlum, whose patience and help during her illness has been greatly appreciated by all of the family.
As Inez leaves her physical family here she is rejoicing with her heavenly father, Lord, and Savior, who called Inez home to join her spiritual family that has preceded her in death; her son, Frank; her beloved sister, Mildred Lawhorn Stafford; brothers, John, Albert, Ralph, Elwood, and Charlie Lawhorn.
Inez would not want anyone to grieve for her passing but to celebrate her life, for she had a good life. She traveled from the coast to the mountains on many occasions and loved to go to Nashville and visit the homes of her favorite country music stars. If Inez could say anything to her children and family now it would be, "Go to that beach and catch a mess of fish. I'll be with you in spirit, but, now I have made my final trip, the most important trip of all, to the home of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. You go live your lives and I will be here waiting for you to join all of us."
The family of Inez would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Community Hospice, Dr. Brantley, and Dr. Ajay Shreenath for the compassion and care shown to them during this time of illness.
