BETTY JOHNSON

On Friday evening, Dec. 7, 2012, Betty "B.J." Johnson, 79, was taken by the Heavenly angels to be with our Lord, while surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Dann Patrick officiating. Interment will be held Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Betty was a godly woman who loved the Lord and her family and set an example for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will lead them all their lives.
Betty was born in Dillon, S.C. on June 13, 1933, to the late Wade Hampton Cook and Bessie Mae Page Cook. She was married to the late Joseph McCloud Johnson. Betty attended Faith Free Will Baptist Church. She was a caring, loving parent and grandparent whose primary goal was the happiness and security of her family. An avid sports fan, Betty could often be found watching or supporting her children and grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her children, Joe Johnson and wife, Jean, of Goldsboro, Bessie Roberts and husband, Donald, of Louisiana, Zandra Johnson and husband, Gary, of Goldsboro, Wade Johnson and wife, Shelda, of Goldsboro, Greg Johnson and wife, Phyllis, of Goldsboro and Dawn Johnson; her grandchildren, Donald Roberts, Jennifer Johnson, Matthew Roberts, Courtney Roberts, Ty Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Gregory Johnson and Lauren Johnson; and four great-grandchildren.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the Meals On Wheels Program, 601 E. Royall Ave.,Goldsboro, NC 27530.
The family will receive friends Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Greg and Phyllis Johnson, 404 Plantation Road.
