MOUNT OLIVE — Deane Hood Rackley, 85, of 1169 Old Smith Chapel Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, in the Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
Born Sept. 19, 1927 in Wayne County, Deane was the daughter of the late Leslie and Estelle Hood. She retired from Wachovia Bank and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Olive.
Funeral services will be held today at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home with visitation following. Entombment will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Deane was the widow of Jesse Wilbur Rackley. She is survived by a son, Mike Rackley and his wife, Clara, of Mount Olive; two daughters, Vicki R. Chewning and her husband, Tom, of Greenville, and Kim R. McLawhon and her husband, Danny, of Wilmington; four granddaughters and one great-grandson.
It is suggested that memorials be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
Arrangements are being handled by Tyndall Funeral Service.
