MICRO -- Mrs. Ella Lambert Watkins, 81, was promoted to Heaven to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to be reunited with her beloved husband on Sunday morning, Nov. 18, 2012.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Watkins was born on Jan. 9, 1931, to the late Rev. Otis and Myrtie Wadsworth Lambert. Her father was an early pioneer minister in the N.C. Pentecostal Holiness Conference. She married the late Rev. W.M. Watkins on Dec. 24, 1946, and together they began their ministry of serving the Lord through singing, evangelizing, and pastoring several churches across the eastern region of the N.C. Pentecostal Holiness Conference. As a young wife, Mrs. Watkins assisted her husband with his tent revivals and radio ministry. She was known for her sweet alto voice and working tirelessly as a pastor's wife for over 40 years, serving in various women's ministries and other offices in the churches they pastored. In more recent years, she had been employed part time at Kid's Retreat in Selma.

Mrs. Watkins is survived by her three children, Connie W. Price of Goldsboro, the Rev. Kathy Duszynski and husband, John, of Chapel Hill, the Rev. Chris Watkins and wife, Christy, of Williamston; six grandchildren, Christie Price-Grimes and husband, Todd, of Eureka, Candice Price-Buzzard and husband, Mathew, of Belgium, Trevor Duszynski of Boone, Emily, Jacob and Andrew Watkins of Williamston; and five great-grandchildren, Darrian and Devin Grimes of Eureka, and Noah, Joseph and Elias Buzzard of Belgium. Mrs. Watkins is also survived by her brothers, Oscar Lambert of Mount Olive, and Samuel Lambert of Alabama. She was preceded in death by brothers, the Rev. Ralph Lambert of Faison, Luther Lambert of Calypso and Herbert Lambert of Durham; and by sisters, Ruth Barwick, Hazel Powell and Fannie Anderson, all of Warsaw, Ethel Davis of Zebulon and Christine Ridge of Smithfield.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m., just prior to the service.
