LAGRANGE -- Ricky Dale Eason, 45, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012.
Ricky was born April 15, 1967, in Wayne County to Dalthia Wood Eason of LaGrange and the late George Alvin Eason. He grew up helping in the family business, Eason's Barbecue, and later graduated from Eastern Wayne High School. For the past 18 years, Ricky worked with the North Carolina Department of Transportation in Lenoir County and was the owner/operator of Eason's Lawn Care. He worked hard in all his pursuits, whether it was buying and repairing older homes, fishing, swimming and in earlier years, hunting.
A service to remember Ricky's life will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Sherman Guthrie officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Fairview Cemetery, LaGrange.
Ricky is survived by his mother, Dalthia Wood Eason; two sisters, Brenda Eason Kearney and husband, Larry of Snow Hill, Connie Eason of Wilmington; special family friend, Colleen Waters of LaGrange; niece, Amy Tripp and husband, Richard, and their children, Wayne and Daniel of Snow Hill. In addition to his father, Ricky was preceded in death by a brother, Danny George Eason; maternal grandparents, C.W. and Cynthia Wood; and his paternal grandparents, George and Eliza Eason.
