CHESAPEAKE, Va. -- Hazel Patterson, 79, a native of Wayne County, passed away Nov. 6, 2012, in Chesapeake, Va., after a long battle with lung disease.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Barwick and Mary Howell, and her nine siblings, Emily, Howard, Major, Tommy, Buddy, Lula, Margaret, Ronald and Milton.
She is survived by her children, Diane and her husband, Basil Asbury, of Chesapeake, Va., Larry Patterson and his wife, Sharon, of Iron Station, N.C., and Jan Patterson of Richmond, Va.
She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Jeremy Asbury of New York, January Asbury of Maui, Hawaii and Ashley and Cheyenne Patterson of Iron Station, N.C.
She is also survived by a lifetime friend, Carolyn Wade, who continues to reside in Richlands.
She always gave unconditional love; her family was her life.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, at 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro.
