NANNIE D. LOFTIN

Died Oct. 22, 2012

KINSTON -- Ms. Nannie D. Loftin, 108 N. East St., died Monday morning, Oct. 22, 2012, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

She was the proprietor and operator of Loftin Funeral Home of Kinston for more than 40 years.

A triumphant celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at 2 p.m. at St. John Free Will Baptist Church, 405 E. Blount St., Kinston, with bishop W.J. Best Sr. officiating.

Ms. Loftin will then be taken to her final earthly resting place in Southview Cemetery on Old Asphalt Road in Kinston.

A viewing will be held Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, from 2 to 7 p.m. in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro.

She was born in Lenoir County, the daughter of the late Vander and Mamie Brown Davis.

Ms. Loftin was educated in and retired from the Lenoir County School System after more than 30 dedicated years of service.

She earned her college degree from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, where she graduated at the age of 19 years old.

She was a member of St. John Free Will Baptist Church in Kinston, where she also served as the church secretary and church officer.

Ms. Loftin was preceded in death by her husband, the late Mr. Johnny F. Loftin.

She was loved by many, known all over eastern North Carolina and will truly be missed by many loving relatives and friends.

The professional, sympathetic and dignified services for Ms. Loftin are entrusted to J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro.
