MARY 'SUE' ANDERSON HEAD

July 28, 1944-Sept. 22, 2012

Mary Sue Anderson Head, 68, of 168 Bowden Road, passed away Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Born in Duplin County, she was the daughter of the late Herman Willie and Minnie Hines Anderson. She was the wife of the late Johnny Walter Head. Prior to her retirement, she was owner and operator of A&K Grocery and Grill for more than 35 years.

Funeral services will be held this evening at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro, with the Rev. Ronnie Weaver officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the funeral service. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park, with Mr. Kenneth Anderson officiating.

Sue is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Allan Head and Brandon and Amy Head; her daughter and son-in-law, Katrina and Ed O'Brien; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Kermit and Portia Anderson, Kenneth and Betty Anderson, Durwood and Betty Lee Anderson of Goldsboro, Bill and Sheila Anderson and Nellie Anderson; five grandchildren, Michael and Brittany O'Brien, Stanton Head, Abby Grace and Brayden Head.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Hubert and Bonnie Anderson, her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Bob Kelly, and her brother Adolph Anderson.
