MILTON UZZELL

Milton Uzzell, 72, Goldsboro, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012.

Milton was born Sept. 29, 1939, in Wayne County to the late Richard and Alice Mae Hines Uzzell.

Milton served with the United States Army, and was a lifelong farmer.

A kind and gentle man, Milton enjoyed a simple life on the farm, and enjoyed time spent with his brothers around the tobacco barns and in the field. Milton enjoyed reading the paper, baseball and most of all, cherished time spent with his family.

A graveside service of remembrance will be held Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, with the Rev. Alan Lamm officiating.

Milton is survived by his wife of 40 years, Helen Davis Uzzell; five children, Scott Uzzell of Goldsboro, Bo Hart and wife, Julie, of Pikeville, Gail Todd and husband, Dughi, Pat Buck and husband, Danny, and Phyllis Hart all of Goldsboro; six grandchildren, Austin, Matthew, Lisa, Steven, Tim and Brittany; five great-grandchildren, Katie, Jordan, Levi, Marlena and Gavin; three brothers, Theodore Uzzell, Malcolm Uzzell and wife, Ann, David Uzzell and wife, Peggy, all of Goldsboro; and two sisters, Glenda Uzzell and Jeanette Hyde and husband, Robert, all of Goldsboro.

In addition to his parents, Milton was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Uzzell Jr. and Marvin Uzzell.

The family will receive friends Friday following the graveside service, and at other times will be at the home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com.
