MOUNT OLIVE -- Marsden Franklin Brock, 73, died Monday morning, April 23.

He had served in the United States Army, had been a farmer, carpenter and employee of Mount Olive Gas Co. and National Towing and had been a community handyman. He was a former member of Pleasant Grove Fire Department.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, at Tyndall Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Jeff Dail, and followed by visitation. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 26, at Pate Cemetery with military honors.

Family and friends are also being received at the Fannie Lee Brock residence, 651 Bennett Bridge Road, Mount Olive.

He is survived by daughters, Lee Ann B. Lee of Mount Olive and her fiance, Mickey Stroud of Albertson, and Vickie B. Baker and husband, Frank, of Kenansville; sons, Marsden Franklin "Frankie" Brock Jr. and wife, Shannon, of Kenly and Harry Blaich and wife, Mary-Claud, of Krumbach, Germany; his former wife, Fannie Lee Brock of Mount Olive; sisters, Mavis B. Swinson and Sarah B. Southerland both of Mount Olive; brothers, Rommie Brock of Goldsboro, Cecil Brock of Mount Olive, David Brock of Calypso and Bennie Brock of Faison; a special friend, Linda Holmes of Seven Springs; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Alvin Lee; parents, Harvey F. and Sadie Brown Brock; a sister, Marie Brock; and brothers, Elwood, Lynwood, Durwood, Billy and Lonnie Brock.
