HERCHELL EUGENE ALLEN
June 19, 1946-April 16, 2012
Herchell Eugene "Gene" Allen, 65, passed away Monday at Kitty Askins. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Elcana "Buddy" and Rachel Allen.
He is also preceded in death by his mother- and father-in-law, Jimmy and Zula Kearney.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Allen; three daughters, Robin Darden, Susan Parker and Rebecca Kujawa; a son, Tommy Allen; eight grandchildren, Joseph Jenkins, Liza Hare, Alisha and Gabriel Parker, James Darden, Taylor, Trent and Jordan Allen; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Marie Jennette, Esther Massey, Frances Tyndall and Pam Sutton; and a brother, Larry Allen.
Family will be receiving friends Wednesday night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Howell's Funeral Home and other times at their home at 207-A Country Day Road, Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Howell's Chapel.
