REV. PAUL L. WOMACK

SNOW HILL -- The Rev. Paul Leon Womack, 80, died Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012.
A native of Harnett County, he was born Dec. 25, 1931, the son of Oscar and Katie Womack.
He completed his secondary education at Mars Hill College, and earned his master's degree from East Carolina University.
Rev. Womack had served as pastor of Glen Raven Baptist Church in Kinston for 19 years.
A veteran, he had honorably served in the United States Marine Corps.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service, with pastor H. Powell Dew Jr. and pastor Jan Rouse officiating. Interment will follow at historic St. Barnabas Cemetery.
Rev. Womack was preceded in death Feb. 17, 2012, by his wife, Linda Mundell Womack.
His surviving family includes his children, Paula W. Berube, Steven L. Womack and Andrew L. Womack all of Beaufort, S.C.; sister, Barbara Shiflett of Virginia; brother, Lloyd Womack of Maryland; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning prior to the service from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
