Mr. John Wesley Dunn, 68, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Sweet Pea," 416-A Lime St., Goldsboro, graciously departed his life Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.

"Sweet Pea" was born in Wayne County Jan. 16, 1943, to the late Bessie Holden Dunn and Tot Dunn.

He was educated in the Wayne County Public School System.

Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his loving wife, Minnie Dunn, and brothers and sister, J.T. Holden, Willie Holden and Lucille Ford.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 3 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Chapel, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, with evangelist Vera Worrells officiating. Interment will follow in Old Mill Cemetery, 2929 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro.

A public viewing will be held Friday, March 2, 2012, at McIntyre Funeral Home and Florist, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, from 2 to 6 p.m.

Mr. Dunn leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories his daughter, Sharon Dunn Plummer and husband, Hubert A., of Pikeville; his sons, Barry Dunn and wife, Medina, and Matthew Dunn all of Goldsboro, Raymond Dunn of Pikeville and Richard Dunn of California; a sister, Mary Holden Smith and husband, Willie James, of Goldsboro; a brother, Thomas Dunn and wife, Julia, of Goldsboro; 38 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert A. Plummer, 241 Booker St., Pikeville, where family and friends will assemble one hour prior to the funeral in preparation for the funeral procession.
