Sandra Pridgen Houston was born June 20, 1960, to Jhue and Shirley Pridgen. She departed this earthly life to ascend into glory Feb. 26, 2012.

Sandra was raised in Lenoir and Greene County. She attended Greene County Public Schools. She graduated from Greene Central High School class of 1978. She attended college, where she received her associate degree in accounting.

She was employed at Better Life Group Home as an administrator.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories a daughter, Keosha Houston; a son, Tyrick Kornegay of the home; three brothers, Apostle Ricky (Gladys) Pridgen of LaGrange, Christopher Pridgen of Jason and retired First Sgt. Michael (Linda) Pridgen of Columbia, S.C.; four aunts, Mary (Richard) Lippman of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Dorothy (Patrick) Joyner of LaGrange, Brenda Bunch of Wilson and Estella (John) Grant of LaGrange; an uncle, John (Joann) Roundtree of Snow Hill; six great-aunts, Willie Mae Atkinson of Hookerton, Pearl (Billy Joe) Echols of Fayetteville, Viola Fardes of Snow Hill, Johnnie Bell Miller of Philadelphia, Pa., Cora Moy of Greenville and Elva Cornish of Ayden; a very special longtime family friend, Tanya Wright; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 2, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Covenant of Faith Church, 3035 N.C. 123 North in Hookerton.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Christian Fellowship Center, 420 Browntown Road in Snow Hill. Following the services in the sanctuary, Ms. Houston's delicate temple, along with her adored family, will be escorted to Snow Hill Cemetery for interment rites.

Ms. Houston's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the Houston and connected families are receiving prestigious service.
