ANNIE RUTH 'WIGGIE' CHRISTINE EDWARDS

Ms. Annie Ruth "Wiggie" Christine Edwards was born March 10, 1945, to the late Warren and Callie Edwards in Duplin County. She departed this earthly life Jan. 2, 2012, at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh.

She lived her entire life in Wayne County, mostly in Pikeville and Fremont.

She graduated from Norwayne High School in 1963.

Wiggie was a faithful member of New Bethel church in Fremont until her health began to fail.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Callie Edwards; her father, Warren Edwards; and three sisters, Elizabeth Whitley, Sylvania Everette and Esther Hamilton.

Wiggie leaves to cherish her memories a son, Terry "Toejoe" Williams of the home; a daughter, Kechia Roundtree of the home; a grandson, Jeremiah Roundtree of the home; a sister Wanda Faye Edwards of Wilson; a brother, Warren Edwards Jr. of Mount Olive; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, from 3 to 6 p.m. at E. M. Matthews Funeral Home, 401 N. William St., Goldsboro.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Greater St. John Church, 613 Mitchell Road, Dudley, with Dr. William A. Mitchell officating.

Following the services in the sanctuary, Ms. Edwards' delicate temple, along with her adored family, will be escorted to Fremont Cemetery for interment rites.

Ms. Edwards' earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the Edwards and connected families are receiving prestigious service.
