PINK HILL -- Jimmy M. Smith, 68, Pink Hill, passed away Saturday at Duplin General Hospital.
Mr. Smith was the son of the late Melvin and Leona Smith of Pink Hill.
He is survived by a daughter, Bonita Harper and husband, Greg, of Albertson; a son Paul Smith and wife, Crystal, of Goldsboro; four grandchildren, Amber Shoup and husband, Randall, of Pink Hill, Kandice Baye and husband, Adam, of Parkton and Savannah and Hunter Smith of Goldsboro; two great-grandchildren, Ravyn Kennedy and Zoey Shoup of Pink Hill; a brother, Billy V. Smith of Pink Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Lillie Mae Thigpen Smith.
Funeral services will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at Pink Hill Funeral Home, with visitation immediately following. Burial and dedication will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Pink Hill.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
