MARY LUCILLE PRIDGEN WILSON

Mrs. Mary Lucille Pridgen Wilson was born in Snow Hill to the late James Alton Pridgen and Mary Helen Moore Pridgen May 24, 1947. She departed this life Dec. 2, 2011.
Mary attended Greene County Schools, and after moving to Goldsboro, she graduated from Dillard High School in 1965.
She was a longtime member of Greater Guiding Star Holiness Church before joining St. Mark Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, where she accepted the Lord as her savior.
Mary loved to smile, but she loved to make others smile even more.
Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her children dearly, but she had a very "special love" for her grandchildren and her Pittsburgh Steelers.
She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Michael D. Wilson of the home; a daughter, Sonia D. Pridgen of Goldsboro; three grandsons, Sh'Quille and Sh'Maughn Wright of Goldsboro and Keshawn Staten of Washington, D.C.; a stepdaughter, Kalina Jefferson of Mississippi; a sister, Ellen R. Pridgen of Goldsboro; two brothers, James T. Pridgen of Goldsboro and Nathaniel Moore of Danville, Va.; four sisters-in-law, Carolyn Walter Moore of Lynchburg, Va., Vera (Richard) Mears of Arizona and LaRita Reid and Kim Wilson of Detroit; her mother-in-law, Juanita Wilson of Detroit; special relatives and friends, Jean Moore, Lonnie Williams, Keisha Staten, Yvonne Kennon, Lisa Seay Yarborough, Deborah Jackson, Dixie Wright, Janice Howell, Zelda and Fletcher Ward, Mary Perry, Doris Worrells, James Taylor, Bell Family, Vick Family, Jennifer Moore, Quantionia Swift and Tammy Best Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, from 4 to 7 p.m. at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at noon at St. Mark Church of Christ Disciples of Christ, 700 W. Ash St., Goldsboro.
Following the services in the sanctuary, Mrs. Wilson's delicate temple, along with her adored family, will be escorted to Old Mill Cemetery for interment rites.
Mrs. Wilson's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the Wilson and connected families are receiving prestigious service.
