SEVEN SPRINGS -- Dollie Price Townsend, 84, of Seven Springs, passed away Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011. Dollie was born Jan. 19, 1927, in Wayne County to the late Titus and Johnnie Price.

She was a lifetime member of Zion United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years and even taught her class on the day she passed away. Dollie had a great love for her church and would help the church in any way possible. She made quilts for all her family and friends. She crocheted many baby blankets, afghans and doilies. She taught crocheting, participated in Meals On Wheels and worked many years with Barry Corp. Dollie made millions of boiled cookies for church gatherings, family and her many friends. Dollie was the first to arrive in times of need for others in the community with food and support.

A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at 6 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Johnson officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Pineview Cemetery.

Dollie is survived by four children: Jenny Thornton and husband, Gordon, Jane Lund, Franklin Townsend and David Townsend; three sisters: Alene Bell, Alyce Kelly and Sylvia Creel; three brothers, Sidney Price, Nelson Price and Larry Price; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Dollie was preceded in death by her husbands, Willard Grady and Claude Townsend; two daughters, Cathy Gail Grady and Glory Karen Grady; three sisters, Geneva Price, Mary C. Price and Geraldine Price; and five brothers, Stacy Price, Curtis Price, Newby Price, Aubrey Price and Donald Price.

The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service and at other times they will be at the home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com.
