PIKEVILLE -- James Eric Jamison Jr., 79, passed away Tuesday at Wayne Memorial
Hospital.

He was the son of the late Estefna and James E. Jamison Sr. and was the husband of Laura Gurley Jamison.

Mr. Jamison was a United States Marines veteran, having served in Korea, and was also a member of American Legion Post 11.

He also served as the secretary/treasurer of his men's Sunday school class, as well as an usher and deacon of First Free Will Baptist Church.

Mr. Jamison worked in the automobile parts industry for many years.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with pastor Richard Glossen and Bishop Boss Kenion officiating. Committal will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

Family members will greet friends Friday one hour prior to the service.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Jamison is survived by a sister, Joy Kaml of Austin, Texas.

A brother, Sam Jamison, preceded James Jamison in death.
