DONALD THORNTON

Donald Thornton, 63, died Nov. 7, 2011.

Donald was educated in the Goldsboro City School System and a member of the Dillard High School Class of 1966.

Survivors include his son, Edward Maurice Williams and grandchildren, Deanna Berry, Demonia Berry and Jovan Newkirk, all of Dumfries, Va.; brothers, Arnold (Janice) Thornton of Goldsboro, William (H. Diane) Thornton of Durham; sisters, Barbara Ann Thornton, Freda T. Ruffin, Sally T. Oliver, Wilhelmina (Donald) McIntyre and Sandra T. (William) Alston, all of Goldsboro; with a host of loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Gladys Strickland Thornton.

Viewing will be held Thursday at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., from 2 to 6 p.m.

Funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Pentecostal Holy Church, 600 E. Pine St., Goldsboro, with Pastor Rodger Taylor, officiating. Interment will be at Wayne Memorial Park.

Arrangements are by Hamilton Funeral Chapel.
