C.E. WEEKS SR.

Aug. 8, 1924-Oct. 30, 2011

Cleaford Earl Weeks Sr., 87, passed away Sunday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.

Mr. Weeks was born in Sampson County Aug. 8, 1924, to the late Jim Henry Weeks and Mattie Harrell Weeks. He was married to the love of his life for 65 years, Nell Porter Weeks, and she preceded him in death Dec. 25, 2007.

Mr. Weeks retired from Franklin Baking Co. as the supervisor of transport. He later began working with Sasser Golf Carts, where he enjoyed that opportunity for many years.

Mr. Weeks was a man of incredible faith, and was a longtime member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was an inspiration to many people, particularly his son and grandsons.

He taught many life lessons, but especially the importance of honesty, integrity, hard work, completing a job to the best of your ability, and never giving up when times are tough.

He will be missed by many, but we rejoice in knowing that he is reunited with his wife and grandson.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, followed by a funeral service in the sanctuary at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Bill Rose and his great-grandson, Bailey Weeks, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

At other times, the family will be at 100 E. Westwood Drive, Goldsboro, the home of his son and daughter-in-law.

Mr. Weeks is survived by his son, Cleaford Earl Weeks Jr. and wife, Carolyn, of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Jim Weeks and wife, Wendy, Frank Weeks and wife, Jennifer, Rick Weeks and wife, Beverly, and Steve Weeks and wife, Amy; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Edward Earl Weeks.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1100 The First Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www. seymourfuneralhome.com.
