PRINCETON -- Lugean Davis Slater, 78, Princeton, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Smithfield Manor.
Born Nov. 19, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John Richard and Rushia Overman Davis.
She was also preceded in death by a niece, Teresa Pittman.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home, and the Rev. Dennis Pollock will officiate. The committal will follow in Tee's Chapel Church Cemetery on Brogden Road in Smithfield.
She is survived by son, Patrick Slater of Austin, Texas; daughter, Scarlett S. Hunt of Morganton; a brother, John Shelton Davis of Smithfield; five sisters, Helen Davis of Smithfield, Madge Woodall of Princeton, Gail Radford of Kenly, Wilma Hollyday of Princeton and Carol Barber of Princeton; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home, and immediately following the service.
Although flowers are welcome, the family suggests that contributions be made to Tee's Chapel Church.
