RETHA BOSTIC KORNEGAY

Retha Bostic Kornegay, 80, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Retha was born in Stocking Head, N.C., May 29, 1931, to the late Thomas Bostic and Mattie Mae Lanier Bostic.
She had worked as a secretary for many years, retiring from Pittman Co.
Retha was an alumni member of Oxford Orphanage.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jerry Mitchell officiating.
Retha is survived by her son, George C. Kornegay Jr. and Sarah Winkler of Holly Ridge; her daughter, Terri Killette and Joe Grady of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, George C. "Dusty" Kornegay III and wife, Joy, of California, Rebekah "Susi" Boyd and husband, Matt, of Greenville, Meredith Karcher and husband, Kyle, of Goldsboro, Jaime Wiggins and husband, Scott, of LaGrange, Lindsay Killette and Joey Herrera of Goldsboro and Shawn Winkler and Shannon Winkler of Holly Ridge; her great-grandchildren, Tucker Wiggins, Jackson Karcher, Christopher Boyd, Fisher Wiggins, Alfie Kornegay, Kenzleigh Karcher, Samantha Boyd, Adler Wiggins, Gavyn Herrera, Mason Wiggins, Fern Kornegay and Ta Kornegay; and her three sisters, Beatrice Rivenbark, Hazel Thomas and Patti Fields.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Kornegay Sr.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to The Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, 600 College St., Oxford, N.C., 27565.
The family will receive friends following the graveside service at Wayne Memorial Park, and other times at the home of her daughter, 5479 Wayne Memorial Drive, Pikeville.
