DOUG MORSE
Nov. 20, 1934-Oct. 11, 2011
Surrounded by his family at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Frank Douglas Morse, 76, joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011.
Doug was born in Wayne County on Nov. 20, 1934 to the late Frank Willson Morse and Lucille Wood Morse. He retired from Dupont after 32 years of service and later began working with Webber Cabinet Shop. Doug was a godly man who loved the Lord and his family and set an example for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will lead them all their lives.
He was a member of New Hope Friends Church but could often be found worshiping God in churches throughout Wayne County. Doug was a very strong believer in Jesus Christ and felt that nothing was impossible when you place your trust in God. His faith gave him the courage to face anything in life. He was also a man of many talents from being a certified clown with the stage name, Sir Frank, to being a wonderful gardener whose roses and yard would always show his talents.
A service to remember Doug will be held on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Bill Garner and his son-in-law, the Rev. Glenn Smith officiating. Private interment will be on Friday at 11 a.m. in New Hope Friends Cemetery.
Doug is survived by his wife of 58 years, Irma Grant Morse; his children, Frank Dennis Morse of Goldsboro, Donna Smith and husband Glenn of Goldsboro, and Debbie Parrott and husband Joe of Pikeville; his grandchildren, Shannan Mozingo and husband Jonathan, Denise Morse, Chris Smith, Crystal Campbell and husband Robbie, Anthony Parrott and Amber Parrott; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Charlie Morse and wife, Judy of Gastonia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Thelma Jean and G.B. Smith.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
The family will receive friends following the funeral service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
