SEVEN SPRINGS -- Edna Joyce Grady, 88, Outlaw's Bridge, passed away at home Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, after an extended illness.

A graveside celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at the Outlaw's Bridge Cemetery at Outlaw's Bridge Universalist Church, with the Rev. Claudia Frost presiding.

Visitation will follow at the church immediately after the service.

Edna Joyce was born in Duplin County to the late Paul and Donnie Simmons Outlaw.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Daisy Fields and Helen Frick, and a brother, Alger Outlaw.

She is survived by her sister, Maybelle O. Grady of Kinston.

She leaves behind two sons, Harry J. Grady and Phillip M. Grady (wife, Kathy); a daughter, Barbara J. Grady; four grandchildren, Teresa Quinn, Hannah Randall (husband, Neel), Ansen Grady (wife, Lindsey) and Luke Grady (wife, Mindy); and six great-grandchildren, Jessica, Keelan and Cannan Quinn and Ireland, Mason and Maddox Grady.

Edna Joyce was retired from Kerr Drugs, and had spent many years teaching knitting and crocheting extension classes at Wayne Community College.

While she was able, she enjoyed walking, reading, ceramics, sewing and other needle crafts, providing most of her own wardrobe as well as gifts for her friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Outlaw's Bridge Universalist Church, attn: Lisa Stoler, 4408 N.C. 111, Seven Springs, N.C., 28578.
