MOUNT OLIVE -- Ruth Green Rogers, 91, Summerlin's Crossroads community, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 13, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at Rooty Branch Free Will Baptist Church, of which she was a long-time, faithful member, Thursday, Sept. 15, at 11 a.m., with her pastor, the Rev. Mickey Whitfield, and the Rev. Richard Whitman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Rogers, a native of Florida, was the widow of Emmett Rogers, and was mother of the late Melvin Rogers.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Sue Rogers of Mount Olive; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean R. and H. W. Langston of Warsaw and Emmette Ruth and Jackie Cashwell of Mount Olive; another daughter-in-law, Peggy Rogers Vick and husband, J.B., of Faison; five grandchildren, Sherry Grady and husband, David, Timmy Rogers, Nona Whitman and husband, Richard, Jason Cashwell and wife, Marie, and Inga Thurston and husband, Will; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren, Natalie Fulghum and Kayden Bowden.
The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., and at other times at Mrs. Rogers' residence, 368 Beautancus Road.
