WINNIE MARIE TAYLOR

March 26, 1959- Aug. 3, 2011

Winnie Marie Taylor, 52, of 401 Hollowell Ave., Goldsboro, departed this journey called life at Wayne Memorial Hospital on Aug. 3, 2011.

A visitation will be held today from 4 until 7 p.m. at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home. A service of remembrance will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at Philadephia Community Church. Following the services in the sanctuary, Ms. Taylor's delicate temple, along with her adored family, will be escorted to Elmwood Cemetery for interment rites.

She was born on March 26, 1959, in Brooklyn, N.Y. Winnie graduated from Goldsboro High School in the Class of 1977. She attended Wayne Community College and received her associate degree in mental health. She proceeded on to attend Wesleyan University in Rocky Mount, where she obtained her psychology degree in 2008.

She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Taylor Sr., and her mother, Julia Mae Jones Taylor.

Winnie leaves to cherish her memories her two children, Keiana Taylor of Goldsboro and Qavius Taylor of Kinston; two grandchildren, Kariana Taylor and Jamere Williams; one great-grandchild, Janiyah McCoy, all of Goldsboro; four sisters, Carolyn Jones of Goldsboro, Wanda Smith of Atlanta, Ga., Cheryl Smith of Kansas City, Mo., Helene Holmes (Gerald) of Goldsboro; one brother, Robert Taylor Jr. of Goldsboro, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ms. Taylor's earthly vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the Taylor and connected families are being served.
