LARRY LEAK

Feb. 27, 1964-July 6, 2011

Mr. Larry Leak was born Feb. 27, 1964, in Jersey City, N.J., to the late Mary Helen Leak-Carter and his stepfather, William Carter.

Larry was educated by the Jersey City Public School System.

He later took on various jobs, including working with the Department of Public Works.

Larry was very athletic. He loved to run track and play basketball, which he was very good at. He was a natural comedian; people would say he was the life of the party. He was loved and adored by all who knew him.

Wednesday, July 6, 2011, Larry entered into eternal rest in Jersey City, N.J.

He leaves to cherish his memory a stepfather, William Carter of Jersey City, N.J.; four sisters, Annie (James) Boney of Goldsboro, N.C., Bernice (Lonell) Carter-Alexander of Goldsboro, N.C., Kiwana (William) Pickett of Jersey City, N.J., and Gail Hilton of Harlem, N.Y.; two brothers, Robert (Tonya) Carter of Jersey City, N.J., and Johnny Taylor of Jersey City, N.J.; three aunts, Louise Hilton of Bronx, N.Y., Bessie Mullins of Jersey City, N.J., and Annie (James) Harper of Rose Hill, N.C.; four uncles, Willie Leak of Kenansville, N.C., James Leak of Rose Hill, N.C., Charlie Forest Leak of Rose Hill, N.C., and Charlie Fain Leak of Jersey City, N.J.; nine nieces, Deborah Chester, Mary (Rell) Leak-Thompson, Antoinette Carter, Lekia Carter, Daphanie Carter, Kaneesha Carter, Kiasia Murchison and Ja'nae Taylor; eight nephews, Joseph Leak, Lonnie (Tina) Leak, Daishaun Leak, Anthony Carter, Leon Carter, Chris Carter, Raquan Carter and Chris Sims; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will take place today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A service of remembrance will take place Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter AME Church in Warsaw. Interment will follow in Cobb Cemetery in Faison.

Prestigious service is rendered by E.M. Matthews Funeral Home.
