MOUNT OLIVE -- Annie Mae Summerlin Taylor, 83, 2036 Garner's Chapel Road, Mount Olive, died Tuesday night, June 7, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Tyndall Funeral Home, with visitation afterward. The Rev. Paul Rose will be officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 10, at Will Taylor Family Cemetery.
Friends and family are also being received at the residence.
Annie Mae, often called "Tink," who was known for her love and knowledge for flowers and plants, owned and operated Taylor's Nursery and Plant Farm, along with her husband.
Having lost her parents, Mack and Bessie Padgett Summerlin, at a young age, it was in the home of her maternal grandparents, Lewis and Sadie Padgett, that she was raised, and therefore, her mother's sister, Nellie P. Spell, and brother, Jesse Padgett, were more like her own older sister and brother than being the actual aunt and uncle that they were.
Annie Mae is survived by her husband, Marvin Taylor of the home; four children, Sylvia T. Jordan of Albertson, widow of Bobby Jordan, Cindy Taylor of Mount Olive, and husband, Randy Dalley, of Linden, Shelton Taylor and wife, Elizabeth, of Cameron and Steve Taylor and companion, Becky Davis, of Mount Olive; seven grandchildren, Bobby Jordan Jr., Lecinda J. Waters, Jesse "J.L." Taylor, Tim Taylor, Jamey Hinson, Scott Taylor and Daniel Taylor; 17 great-grandchildren, Davis, Rachel, Matthew, Josh, Luke, Justin, Megan, Jessica, Alyssa, Elizabeth, Austin, Hope, Bryan, Taylor, Skyler, Dylan and Jesse; and two great-great-grandchildren, Madison and Owen.
Also surviving are her dear sister-in-law, Ruth Taylor of Mount Olive, and special family friends and attendants, Diane and Richard Capps of Mount Olive and Ruby Coker of Albertson.
