DR. OLIS M. WAKEFIELD

Dr. Olis M. Wakefield, 91, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Olis was born in Winston County, Ala., Sept. 21, 1919, to the late William Charles Wakefield and Bertie Nix Wakefield.
Services will be held at a later date in Virginia Beach.
Dr. Wakefield is survived by his daughters, Ouida Sue Carrington and husband, Bruce, of Pikeville, N.C., Gail Tompkins and husband, Tom, of Powhatan, Va., Jayme Melofchik and husband, Neil, of Brasila, Brazil, and Elizabeth Kathelle Wakefield of Virginia Beach; his son, William Charles Wakefield of Virginia Beach; his five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Douglass Anthony Wakefield, and his daughter, Ianna Shelly Wakefield.
