Vernell Coley Brown, 84, 1507 Edgerton St., died Saturday at Kitty Atkins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, N.C.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at White Oak Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church in Pikeville. Burial follows in Spruill Cemetery.
She is survived by her brother, Thadis Coley Sr. of Goldsboro.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 7 p.m., with the family present to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at other times at 700 Luther Drive, where it will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
