MOUNT OLIVE -- Mrs. Katie Brock Stroud, 89, died early Wednesday morning, April 13, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
She is survived by a son, Dwight Stroud of Williams-burg, Va.; three daughters, Audrey Price and husband, Franklin, of Mount Olive, Geneva Green and husband, Donald, of Seven Springs and Linda Lupton and husband, John, of Mount Olive. She is also survived by two daughters-in-law; Elizabeth Ann Thompson and Hilda H. Stroud both of Seven Springs, and a brother, Willard Brock of Quinby, S.C. Mrs. Katie is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents, Herbert Brock and Fonnie Price; her husband, Darlee Stroud; two sons, Roger Stroud and Kenneth Stroud. She was also preceded by two sisters, Jessie Mae Jones, and Lois Beasley; a grandchild, Karen Barwick; and a great-great-grandchild, Joshua Hardy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. A.G. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
