PATRICE BARNES WORRELLS

Dec. 22, 1981, God sent a beautiful baby to John and Kathryn Barnes named Patrice. Patrice was known as Patty to close family and friends. March 1, 2011, God called her home at the tender age of 29.
Patty attended Wayne County Public Schools, and graduated from Eastern Wayne High School with honors in 2000. She attended North Carolina Central University receiving a bachelor's degree, and East Carolina University receiving a master's degree.
She was a member of Greenleaf Christian Church Disciples of Christ and Goldsboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
Patty is survived by her husband, Waylon Worrells; parents, John and Kathryn Barnes; sister, Karena Barnes; grandmother, Dorothy Collins; mother-in-law, Lorice Worrells; father-in-law Linwood Worrells; sister-in-law, Latrice Worrells; and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.
Patty was preceded in death by her grandfather, E.B. Collins, and grandmother, Eva Barnes.
Her life will be celebrated Monday at 12 noon at Greenleaf Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Her mortal frame will be laid to rest in Wayne Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m., with the family present to receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church.
The family will receive friends at other times at the residence, 110 Heron Drive, Goldsboro, where they will assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
