Elizabeth Barnes Watson, 88, passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Mrs. Elizabeth Watson was born in Wayne County June 22, 1922, to the late Bryan and Ida Lane Barnes.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at 11 a.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church on Ash Street, with pastor John Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Elizabeth is survived by a son, Frankie Watson and wife, Peggy, of Goldsboro; two daughters, Betty Watson of the home and Elane Wall and husband, Joe, of Goldsboro; along with three grandchildren, Bryan Garris, Denise Brown and Jimmy Watson; her seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; her brother, Ralph Barnes of Goldsboro; and two sisters, Margie Shirley of Goldsboro and Mavis Hooks of Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elton I. Watson, and grandson, Jeff Watson.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to First Free Will Baptist Church at 604 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530, or Kitty Askins Hospice Center at 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
