AMY LISSIE B. EDGERTON

Amy Lissie Beamon Edgerton, 96, surrounded by her family, passed away Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at her daughter's home.

Amy Lissie was born in Wayne County Oct. 1, 1914, to the late Jim "J.R." Beamon and Eva Pate Beamon, and was the widow of Windal Frank Edgerton.

She was a seamstress for many years at Sallie's Bridal Shop.

Amy Lissie was a member of Belfast Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Edgerton Family Cemetery located next to Nahunta Fire Department, with the Rev. James Herring officiating.

Amy Lissie is survived by her daughter, Jeannetta E. Radford of Goldsboro; her daughter-in-law, Margaret M. Edgerton of Kenly; her sisters, Dorothy B. Pope of Garner, Eleanor B. Goff of Belfast, Lorraine B. Rowe and husband, Mutt, of Pikeville and Reba B. Barwick of Seven Springs; her brother, Edwin B. Beamon and wife, Christine, of Belfast; her sister-in-law, Ruby Beamon of Belfast; her brother-in-law, Lamar Owensby of Goldsboro; her four grandchildren, Frank Edgerton and wife, Annette, Phillip Edgerton and wife, Paige, Amy Yandell and husband, Scott, and Melissa Radford; and her great-grandsons, Joshua Edgerton, Nicholas Edgerton, Brody Radford and Samuel Yandell. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents and husband, by her son, Robert F. Edgerton; her son-in-law, Raymond S. Radford; her brothers, Samuel "Hayes" Beamon and James Wilton Beamon; and her sisters, Alma B. Owensby and Lois B. Snead.

The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the home of her daughter, Jeannetta Radford at 2853 U.S. 70 West, Goldsboro.
