Cornelia Gertrude Beems, 85, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at the Brian Center.
Miss Beems was born in Rocky Mount, on April 8, 1925, to the late Cornelius Beems and Helen Hicks Beems. She was a graduate of East Carolina University where she served as assistant dean of women. Miss Beams also taught high school in Goldsboro and Roanoke Rapids. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Friends will gather for a memorial service on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the Black Chapel at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Judy A. Stanley officiating. A private interment will follow in the Faison Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Foundation of First Presbyterian Church, 1101 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
