JONATHAN WAVERLY RUSSELL

Died Nov. 27, 2010

Jonathan Waverly Russell, 38, peacefully slipped from this life and began his heavenly one on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be 7 p.m. Monday at Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn Epps officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Park with military honors.

A native of Wayne County, Jonathan was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. He was a very special and unique soul, a lover of music, good friends, enjoyed family gatherings, and any opportunity to help those in need. He was the eldest son of Debra McFatter Donald and husband, Ron Donald, of Goldsboro, and Curtis Wade Russell Sr. of Newport.

Jonathan was a graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a member of Rosewood Worship Center. He served proudly and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

In addition to his parents, Jonathan is survived by his brother, Curtis Wade Russell Jr. and wife, Sheri, of Goldsboro; sister, Jennifer Russell Mesimer of Goldsboro; niece, Raven Alaina Mesimer; and nephews, Riley Scott Mesimer and Oscar Kinchen Taylor; uncle, Charlie James and wife, Pam.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Penny McFatter, Doris and Lionel Russell, and George and Arabelle Donald.

The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and at other times at 311 Earl Drive, Goldsboro.
