LAGRANGE -- Tessie Thompson Gray Rouse, 91, LaGrange, went home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010.
Mrs. Rouse was born Aug. 30, 1919, in Onslow County to the late Lloyd and Alma Mills Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bruce Gray and Troy Rouse; son, Phillip Lloyd Gray; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Rouse was a lifelong homemaker, who enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.
A service of remembrance will be held Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Gray Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Rouse is survived by five children, Bobby Gray and wife, Jeanne, of Raleigh, John A. Gray and wife, Rebecca, of LaGrange, Annie Newcomb of LaGrange, Willie Gray and wife, Barbara, of LaGrange and Bill Gray and wife, Diane, of Raleigh; sister, Lona T. Hill of LaGrange; two brothers, Donald Thompson and wife, Susan, of Kinston and Herbert Thompson and wife, Velma, of Jacksonville; two stepdaughters, Edna Winstead and Louise Farmer both of Wilson; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, and at other times they will be at the home of Annie Newcomb, 636 Parkstown Road, LaGrange.

The family would like to thank the second-floor nursing staff at Wayne Memorial Hospital and all of the staff at Kitty Askins Hospice Center for their compassionate care of our loved one during our difficult time.
