Mary Ellen Johnson Woodard, 87, passed away on Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mary Ellen was born in Wayne County on June 21, 1923, to the late Tommie and Hazel Johnson. She was married to the late Milton H. Woodard.
She is survived by her son, Charles H. Woodard of Apex; her daughters, Josephine Daughtry and husband, David, of Goldsboro and Dorothy Woodard Keel of Goldsboro; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Arthur M. Woodard; three brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends today from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
