LATOSHA BRITT-HARRIS

LaTosha Franzina Britt-Harris, 34, lovingly known by her family and close friends as "Granny No. 1," of 2120 Beekman Place, Wilson, departed this life on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville.

LaTosha was born in Wilson County on Feb. 29, 1976, to Margaret Ray Britt and Billy Earl "Bill" Britt.

She attended the Wilson County public schools and graduated from E.T. Beddingfield High School in 1994. She furthered her education in the area of sports medicine, graduating from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1998. In 2008, she received her North Carolina Nursing Degree from ECPI.

LaTosha was married to Garrison Harris and to that union three children were born, Me'Kailya, Garritt and Gavin.

She joined Wilson Chapel Church at an early age and was a faithful member until her departure. She was a member of the C.C. Thomas Joybells, Sunday School Department and the mime team.

LaTosha was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, in-law and friend.

She was employed with the Nash Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Rocky Mount.

Funeral services will be conducted today, Sept. 5, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. at L.N. Forbes Original Free Will Baptist Tabernacle, 1800 Lane St. Extension, Wilson, with Bishop Robert L. Gorham officiating. Interment will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Lane Street Extension, Wilson.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her husband, Garrison Montrel Harris; her daughter, Me'Kailya aMiya Harris of the home; two sons, Garritt Christian Harris and Gavin Chandler Harris, both of the home; her parents, Margaret Ray Britt and Bill Earl Britt of Wilson; two sisters, Stephanie Britt and Brianna Britt, both of Wilson; one brother, BJ Britt and wife, Patricia, of Los Angeles, Calif.; her mother-in-law, Margaret Ward Harris of Wilson; six sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; six nieces; four nephews; her godbrother; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
