Leslie "Cute" Kornegay, 83, 709 Long Leaf Ave., died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A service of remembrance will be held Sunday at Bear Creek Association Headquar-ters building, 1800 S. Slocumb St. in Goldsboro. Burial will be in Old Mill Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Maggie Kornegay; a daughter, Gloria Flowers; a son, apostle Douglas (Cynthia) Kornegay; three granddaughters, Antoinette Smith of Goldsboro and Tamikia and Chye Kornegay both of Greensboro; four grandsons, Anthony Flowers of Kinston, Don Juan (Edwina) Flowers of Atlanta, Ga., Ayinde (A.J.) and Tessara (T.D.) Kornegay both of Goldsboro; two great-grandsons, Seanquez Flowers and DeJuante Bowden; a great-granddaughter, Kiyah Flowers of Stone Mountain, Ga.; an aunt, Willie May Lawson of Richmond, Va.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The body may be viewed Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St. in Goldsboro, with the family receiving friends at Central Heights Free Will Baptist Church from 6 to 7 p.m. during an inspirational wake. At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, where they will assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
