L. MACK SUMMERLIN

KENANSVILLE -- Louis Mack Summerlin, 78, of 2519 West Ward's Bridge Road, died Saturday morning at home.

Funeral services will be held on Monday night at 7 at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive. Officiating will be the Rev. Mickey Whitfield and the Rev. Ricky Byrd. He will be buried at Devotional Gardens of Warsaw on Tuesday at 11 a.m.

Mr. Summerlin was a retired poultry farmer. He was a member of the Rooty Branch Original Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy Ezzell Summerlin; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Alice and Milton Grady of Kenansville, Diane and Ronnie Pate of Magnolia, and Debbie and Dennis Miller of Warsaw; five grandchildren, Chris Holmes, Melissa Anderson, Brandon Holmes, Tracy Whitman, and Milton Grady II; six great-grandchildren, Wesley Holmes, Mackenzie Holmes, Dylan Anderson, Madison Holmes, and Braden Holmes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar James Summerlin and Lucy Brock Summerlin; two sisters, Lucy Mae Thigpen and Irene Swinson; two brothers, Edgar James "E.J." Summerlin Jr., and Larry Clyde Summerlin; and two infant siblings.

The family welcomes floral tributes, as well as memorial gifts to be made to Rooty Branch FWB Church, c/o Lettie P. Barwick, 205 Beautancus Road, Mount Olive, NC 28365.
