JAMES A. STACKHOUSE

James Arthur Stackhouse, the youngest child of Mary Stackhouse and the late John Stackhouse, was born Sept. 1, 1947, in Wayne County and departed this life Monday.

A celebration of life service for Mr. Stackhouse will take place Saturday at 1 p.m. at Refuge Temple Church, 509 N. Carolina St. in Goldsboro, with the Rev. Timothy Whitfield rendering words of comfort, after which Mr. Stackhouse's delicate vessel and his precious family will be escorted to his earthly quiescent consign named Old Mill Cemetery for interment rites. Although his corporeal temple will remain in this situate until the King of King's return, his spiritual man will be somewhere around the marvelous throne enjoying the heavenly host.

James attended Goldsboro City Schools. During his tenure with the United States Army, James received numerous honors and awards.

After many years living in Philadelphia, Pa., James decided to relocate closer to home and he resided with his brother, Leonard Swinson, in Snow Hill.

James will be remembered most for the love for his family, sense of humor and his BIG smile.

He leaves to mourn and forever cherish his memories his children, Pamela D. King (Tyrone) of Goldsboro and James A. Brewington (Deborah) of Miami, Fla.; a brother, Leonard Swinson of Snow Hill; a sister, Martha P. Washington of Snow Hill; two aunts, Sally Hagan and Catherine Hagan; a brother- in- law, Herbert Howell of Goldsboro; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Mr. James Stackhouse will be held at E. M. Matthews Funeral Home & Cremation Inc. Friday from 2 to 8 p.m.

The entire family of Mr. Stackhouse from both near and far is receiving caring and compassionate service from the family and staff of E. M. Matthews Funeral Home & Cremations Inc., where he is also peacefully resting, 401 N. William St. in Goldsboro, 735-2775, www.emmatthewsfuneralhome.com.
