Summer Young Teague, 39, passed away Thursday afternoon at Wayne Memorial Hospital after a battle with leukemia.

A celebration of life service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Pine Forest United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Billy Olsen officiating. A private interment will be held in the church cemetery.

She was born in Syracuse, N.Y., to Robert Young and the late Karinne Young.

She is survived by her father, Robert Young, and her stepmother, Karen, of Blountsville, Tenn.; her aunt, Connie H. Spaduzzi and husband, Charles, of Goldsboro; her loving and dedicated husband, Wade Teague, and their two very loving sons, Luke and Will Teague of Rosewood; her father- and mother-in-law, Forrest and Holt Teague of Rosewood; sister-in-law, Lynn T. Ligon and husband, Norwood, of Pikeville; brothers-in-law, Hank Teague and his wife, Paula, of Norfolk, Va., and Kemp Teague and wife, Michelle, of Rosewood; nieces and nephews, Ben and Christi Teague, Stephen and Joseph Ligon and Bailey and Hayden Teague; her great-aunts, Hilda T. Cope of Goldsboro and Jean Dameron and husband, Stan, of Fayetteville; and a great-uncle, Fred McKinney, of Fayetteville.

Summer was preceded in death by her mother, Karinne Young.

She will be greatly missed by the youth of Pine Forest Church and countless friends of Rosewood.

Summer was a loving and compassionate wife, mother and friend. Her beautiful spirit and faithfulness touched many lives and her dedication to God inspired everyone whom she met during her too short life.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.

Summer's family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to the medical staff of North Carolina Baptist University and the 7th floor medical and nursing staff at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Pine Forest United Methodist Church youth fellowship or to Pine Forest Bolivia mission team, c/o Pine Forest Methodist Church, 867 N.C. 581 south, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
