Freddie Howard Stevens, 66, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held tonight at 6 at Freedom Baptist Church, with pastor David Jackson and the Rev. Brian McDonald officiating.
Freddie was born In Wake County to Rachel Wood Blakeley and the late William Howard Stevens.
He is survived by two sons, Scott Stevens and Christopher Stevens both of Raleigh, and a special friend, Kaye Mewborn of Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends following the service.
