Derek Van Willoughby, 50, 103 Coventry Drive, died suddenly Monday.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gary Bailey and the Rev. Barry Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Derek was born in Robeson County July 26, 1959, to Van and Shirley Shaw Willoughby.

He was a farm manager with Murphy-Brown.

Derek attended Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Derek is survived by his wife, Susan Byrd Willoughby; his sons, Austin Palmer Willoughby, Joshua Cole Willoughby and Matthew Evan Willoughby all of the home; his grandmother-in-law, Hazel Palmer; his sister, Andrea Lynne Willoughby of Snow Hill; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joan and Phil Frazier of Moncure; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jan and Chris Hill and their children of Sanford.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church and other times at the home.
